Why did you join KDP? I joined KDP because I wanted to meet lots of new people in the College of Education that all had the same passion for teaching as I did!
Why do you want to be a teacher? My grandmother was a teacher and was a huge inspiration to me when I was younger. I've always loved working with children and I think teaching is a great way to make a lasting impression in their lives to set them up for success. I also have a really big passion to incorporate dance and movement into lessons in the classroom!
Favorite JMU Class You’ve Taken: MATH 305 with Alexis Stevens and DANC 345 with Ryan Corriston
Best piece of classroom advice/wisdom you’ve received: Collaborate with your peers and don't be afraid to ask for help. Teaching is a difficult occupation and sometimes it can become very overwhelming with so many responsibilities and priorities. Other teachers know the hardships and struggles and can help lift you up and act as some of your biggest supporters.
Favorite KDP Event: My favorite KDP Event last year was the Third Annual Educator's Conference! It was really great to hear from different educators that were out in the field as they had so much knowledge and wisdom to share with us!
